Enhance your composite solutions with e-Graphenes.
Supercharge your polymers with e-Graphene to achieve better mechanical strength, barrier properties, thermal or electrical conductivity for various composite use cases. With the first Graphene meeting application requirements.
e-Graphenes -
the versatile thermoset additive
Proven in practice: These case studies demonstrate the successful use of e-Graphenes in epoxy-based customer applications.
Conductive Adhesives
For highly filled Ag-pastes at 0,9 %
e-Graphene loading in epoxy component:
achieved less brittleness despite high Ag-filler content
20% stronger adhesion to substrate
benefiting solder replacements in temperature-sensitive applications.
Anticorrosion Coatings
For water-based epoxy coating at
0,1 % e-Graphene loading:
achieved less blistering (ISO 4628) after cut-off tests (ISO 6270 & 9227)
7x corrosion inhibition according to impedance spectroscopy (DIN EN ISO 17463 / ASTM G106)
benefiting barrier properties in anticorrosion coatings
Neat Epoxy Resins
For 2K Epoxy resin at < 2%
e-Graphene loading:
achieved 90% increased fracture toughness
improved E*-modulus (+13% at 30°C, +66% at 170°C), with only minor impact on viscosity
benefiting structural applications such as fiber-reinforced composites
3 reasons why
e-Graphenes
work for composite applications:
Traditional Graphene production approaches are either destroying quality or ease-of-use of the material. We have solved this issue.
Our novel, aqueous electrochemical exfoliation process produces large (µm) flake, few-layer e-Graphenes. The material combines Graphene's superior performance characteristics with a high processability in production processes, making it easy to use while outperforming conventional Graphenes such as LPE or reduced graphene oxide.
Sixonia's e-Graphenes can be formulated to meet your individual processing requirements, without the need for surfactants: We deliver e-Graphenes for thermoset resins dispersed in binders or curing agents for compounding and for polymer solutions dispersed in the same solvent as your polymer or in the polymer solution directly.
If needed, we can customize your e-Graphene using our patented in-situ functionalization process. By varying our electrolyte composition and other process parameters, the degree of oxidation and the presence of different functional groups can be controlled and the material can thus be tailored for different polymer applications.
